Pool & Spa

Aurora Material Solutions offers NSF® 14/61 approved high flow injection molding compounds, making them ideal for valves and fittings used in pool & spa applications.

Our AuroraTec™ rigid PVC compounds are easy to process. They are also highly impact resistant and available in weatherable and non-weatherable formulations. The injection molding compounds come in pellet form with a wide range of color options.

AuroraTec PC/PBT (polycarbonate/polybutylene terephthalate) compounds are alloys of amorphous polycarbonate and the semi-crystalline polybutylene terephthalate resin. These compounds offer good chemical resistance, great impact and heat resistance, as well as outstanding aesthetic and processability characteristics. Impact-modified grades can provide a high level of impact strength at low temperatures.

AuroraFlex™ flexible PVC is a cost-effective alternative to our thermoplastic elastomers. These compounds provide flexible PVC from 35A to 95A Shore A durometer* to semi-rigid, with specific gravities ranging from 1.15 to 1.65. We use various types of compound additives to promote plasticity and flexibility to meet specific needs, such as renewable non-phthalate, improved low temperature tolerance and biocides. When you’re looking for a compound that offers high-abrasion resistance and excellent processing properties, AuroraFlex SL is designed to produce longer-lasting materials, with no tearing.

AuroraFlex SBS and SEBS compounds utilize multiple TPE/TPR chemistries to impart high-performance properties for durability and easy processing for seals and gaskets. TPE options are available as low as 10A* up to 50D durometer hardness. Some of our TPEs are offered in clear, as well as oil free grades.

AuroraGuard™ CPVC Compounds are ideal in applications that require low smoke, high-heat performance. As a result, it is ideal for a variety of building and construction applications that require high temperature and/or flame performance and smoke ratings such as siding, windows, fences, electrical, custom extrusion, and custom injection molding.

AuroraGuard MABS (Methacrylate-Acrylonitrile-Butadiene-Styrene), often known as clear ABS, can outperform polystyrene, SAN, and PMMA for impact resistance and has similar heat distortion properties. Polycarbonate can outperform clear ABS for both impact resistance and high-temperature properties as well. Clear ABS scores well for stress-crack resistance and processability, with good melt flow characteristics.

Our experienced R&D team will work with you to develop a formulation that will meet your specific application needs. We are consistently recognized as best in class for our color development and production repeatability.

* NOTE: Durometer hardness is measured with a calibrated durometer using the Shore Type-A scale in a room of consistent temperature. The indenter is inserted for 15 seconds to determine if it passes the ASTM D2240-Durometer Hardness test for the desired durometer.
