PC/AES

Polycarbonate (PC) is an amorphous thermoplastic that delivers outstanding impact strength and excellent colorability.

When combined with AES (acrylonitrile/ethylene/styrene), the result is an even more durable material – one that resists fading from UV light and withstands impact without marring or scratching. It’s also lighter than PC alone, making it an ideal solution for weight reduction in finished products.

AuroraShield^™ compounds are made to deliver outdoor protection against UV fading and weathering throughout the lifecycle of your product. We test UV resistance using QUV and Xenon Arc Accelerated Weathering Tests that are performed utilizing specially

designed equipment. The test chamber simulates the effects of moisture and UV sunlight on a polymer over a given period of exposure. The QUV and Xenon Arc testing equipment can provide results in a much shorter period of time than actual outdoor weathering and attempts to replicate what can happen to materials over several months or years in actual outdoor environments.
